I have a pond basket that fits on a 10 gallon fish tank that I keep bare bottom for fry I also keep a cheap old-fashioned filter that I cover with bridal netting to keep the guppies from being sucked in.

Omg I’m so happy u rescued that poor betta fish I saved alot of sick bettas from Walmart and they all lived for a Long time I’m so happy Walmart doesn’t sell bettas anymore and by the way my mom got me 2 new bettas from petsmart my Betta fish is red with blue and the other betta fish is my nephews it’s blue and black 😃

- Yesterday, I suddenly got a betta fish from a family member who didn't want to take care of him anymore.. She kept him in a 1 gallon bowl.. So when I got him, I set up a 5 gallon I already had and placed some pothos plants (only the roots and stem, not leaves) in the tank with him to help with ammonia, nitrates, ect - I also put some Stress Coat in the water to help him relax after the move... - I have a floating thermometer in the water to constantly keep check of the water temp.. My bedroom is naturally warm, so the water stays within the temp that bettas like (which is mainly between 75 - 80 °F).. I also have some natural looking rocks that have algae on them.. I put those in his tank as well 'cause regardless of what a lot of people think: algae is not a bad thing.. 👍 - I have a small sponge filter in the tank on a gentle flow for him.. He's doing okay, and is active.. and he is very nosy.. When I'm near his tank, he comes to the front to see what I'm doing.. LoL.. - This morning I found a bubble nest on the water's surface. I'm not getting him a girlfriend.. 😅

Walmart sucks at fish they shouldn't have been allowed to sell them at all ours got in trouble for it and had to get rid of their fish tanks for that reason

I’ve been keeping expert level goldfish for years but honestly the neons have always been a favorite of mine. And ironically I can’t seem to keep them? I have 7-8ph but they still end up dying on me. I’ve heard this same thing from a friend of mine that is expert at marine tanks and it’s weird how the easy fish we overthink

i remember my local walmart having fish for about 3 months, whenever i told my mom i wanted a fish, she took me there and it did great for a few years but it was old when we got it, we went again a few weeks later and we go to see them just for a visit and low and behold they were all dead 2 were alive and it was awful smelling back there. 100s of reports were submitted and they had to take out the entire fish section and now they only carry 1-25 gallon tanks with some extras

i was never surprised at how poorly they were treated considering the high turnover rate of stores like Walmart. they don’t bother to properly train employees to take care of them
